Working with the Ockford Ridge Community
As well as doing a great job building new homes on Site D, ABD Builders is committed to local involvement. Contracts Manager Jonathan Bransbury, Marketing Manager Ian Moore and Site Manager, Martin Potter are working with the community to bring some real benefits to Ockford Ridge. The project includes help with the annual maintenance of St Marks Centre and the Scout and Guide HQ.
Marketing Manager, Ian Moore said: “It is great that we can add something positive to the image of construction and also help to benefit the community in which we are working. It will raise the image of construction and maybe spark interest in a career within the industry for some of the youngsters and also help tidy up these buildings.”
ABD Builders is also supporting cycling training at Greenoak School. Ian Moore continued: “We are also pleased to sponsor this event for Green Oak Pupils. By developing skills and creating greater awareness of the hazards around them, the event aims to make the whole cycling experience more enjoyable and safer for the pupils. Cycling to school not only helps children to stay fit, but allows them the freedom to lead independent lives, so vital to their development and wellbeing.”
Headteacher Phillipa Leftley said: “I am delighted that ABD Builders has been able to support our Yr6 pupils with their Level I cycling instruction course. The children will be moving to Secondary schools later this year and many will be travelling to school on their bikes. This instruction will be invaluable for their basic road awareness and safety and we are very grateful for their sponsorship.”
ABD Builders are sponsoring this years Easter Egg hunt for the school/our community toddlers group and the rainbows at Scout and Guide HQ. We are putting money towards the Eggs and providing headed notepaper to help with the hunt.
