Templeman House, Bournemouth
We're very happy to have won this project for Bournemouth Christchurch & Poole Council, for the demolition of a disused care home and its replacement with a development of 27 affordable flats, built to Passivhaus principles.
The new four-storey building features stepped vertical elements, allowing privacy and maximum light into each unit. A series of monopitched roofs will further break up the mass of the building and will accommodate PV panels to offset the running costs of the common parts. A more compact footprint also allows more extensive landscaping and the provision of 27 parking spaces.
Featuring wood-effect cladding, buff brickwork and bronze zinc standing seam roofing, it is an exciting design that will make its own distinct statement in the surroundings.
