Services
Plumbing
Hot and cold water services as well as waste pipes to baths, basins, toilets and kitchens are run within the wall panels and left for connection within the first floor void or roof space by the on site plumber during the 2nd fix stage of a project. Sanitaryware is also fitted during the 2nd fix stage although generally the cisterns for wc’s are pre-fitted in the factory. Soil and vent pipes are also fitted within the wall panels and connected into the drainage system within the ground floor slab when the panels are erected.
Heating
This can be provided in the following ways:
- Mechanical air exchange ventilation system with heat recovery. This is a standard installation in German homes, costs very little to run and is extremely efficient.
- Underfloor heating with heat provided by either a gas fired boiler or ground source heat pump.
- Traditional wet heating system using gas fired boiler.
Electrical
The installation of electrical conduits and accessory back box cut outs is a standard provision in the system. By providing the 1st fix installation in a factory environment greater attention can be paid to sealing up voids within the wall panels through which any conduits run. The only work required once the building has been erected is the wiring of the property, fixing of accessories and distribution board.
