The new building occupies the site of two redundant tennis courts. The roof of the building is twin pitch with insulated composite profiled colour-coated metal sheeting. External elevations, in the main, are of brickwork and weatherboarding. The building also features black aluminium curtain-walling to match the colour of the windows.
Externally, a new access road and car park were constructed. A new pedestrian access bridge was also constructed providing access to the building at first floor level.
This new 6th Form Centre sits at the heart of the school so pupil segregation and a robust Health & Safety regime were established and enforced throughout the project.
